The Central Valley Varsity Football Team captured the PIAA State Championship in Hershey, PA, on Saturday, December 11, 2021. This was the Warriors' 4th trip to the state finals, winning back-to-back titles in 2020 and 2021.

The Central Valley Warriors defeated the Wyomissing Spartans 7-0, beating them for the second straight year. Senior running back Landon Alexander led the Warriors, who rushed for 231 yards on 35 carries and one touchdown. The Warriors' defense stifled Wyomissing holding them to 115 yards in total offense and 34 yards in the second half, which included a great defensive stand in the 4th quarter. Senior defensive lineman and the University of Pittsburgh commit Sean FitzSimmons strip-sacked the Wyomissing quarterback on 4th down that ended the Spartans' drive. Junior defensive lineman Jackson Tonya led the defense with 14 tackles.

Congratulations to Coach Mark Lyons, his staff, and the entire football team for an outstanding season. The win accounted for the 27th win in a row which is currently the longest winning streak in the state. The Warriors ended their season 15-0, winning the WPIAL (District-7) and the PIAA State championships. The Warriors' record since 2019 is 40-2.
