Reading 7
Reading 7 is a course designed to further develop students’ English Language Arts (ELA) skills taught in Reading 6. Students will enhance their analysis and interpretation of texts while building their reading, comprehension, critical thinking, and vocabulary skills through the study of various literary forms including short stories, poetry, dramas, essays, and novels. Students will explore and interact with literature and informational texts while sharing their insights through class discussions, individual work, group work, class activities, text-dependent analysis, and writings. Students will also use supplemental materials such as standards-based instructional workbooks, Scholastic Magazines, Study Island, ThinkCERCA, and Accelerated Reader to enhance their learning in the classroom.
 
 
Honors Reading 7
Honors Reading 7 is an advanced course designed to challenge students who excelled with the English Language Arts (ELA) skills taught in Reading 6. Students will enhance their analysis and interpretation of texts while building their reading, comprehension, critical thinking, and vocabulary skills through the study of 4 novels and connected readings of various literary forms including short stories, poetry, dramas, and essays. Students will explore and interact with complex literature and informational texts while sharing their insights through class discussions, individual work, group work, class activities, text-dependent analysis, and writings. Students will also use supplemental materials such as Scholastic Magazines, Study Island, ThinkCERCA, and Accelerated Reader to enhance their learning in the classroom.
