Letter to Parents Regarding October Safety Month
Dear Central Valley Families,

The Central Valley Board of Education, administration, staff and students take great pride in practicing school safety. As we strive to keep our students and staff members safe, the District will continue to plan and implement emergency practice drills on a regular basis. In the coming month of October, each school will engage in several safety drills. The students and staff have been discussing the procedures to follow during different forms of emergency drills. The types of information the students are exposed to has been tailored to educate them in the most appropriate manner. Please understand that the District has been trained on and follows the A.L.I.C.E. model which empowers our staff and students to make decisions based on any information provided to them. The District staff and students will continue to be on the forefront of school safety. The following emergency drills will take place during the month of October and throughout the school year: fire drills, weather-related sheltering drills, campus alert, enhanced lockdown, and evacuation drills.

If your child comes home and talks to you about any of the emergency drills we facilitate within the District, take time to listen to them. Please direct any questions you may have to the appropriate building principal.

Respectfully,
Dr. Nicholas Perry Superintendent
