COVID-19 Update: November 12, 2020
I would like to thank all members of the school community for their flexibility and patience as we all navigate a school year like none other before it. Staff and students have been diligent in practicing mitigation efforts since our return to school in August. Those efforts have been successful to date as we have been able to keep our doors open. As you are all aware, the virus appears to be on the upswing as we head toward the Thanksgiving holiday. Please be diligent in adhering to mitigation efforts within the community in general.

We are seeing students and staff that have to quarantine based on contact tracing and the close contact designation with someone who may have tested positive for COVID outside of the school setting. The District health staff has been working diligently to follow any possible cases that we are aware of. In addition, the health staff has been in daily contact with the PA Department of Health and will continue to follow their recommendations regarding potential cases. As we presented publicly and through the District Health and Safety Plan, if we become aware of a positive case within the District, the appropriate staff and/or students will be notified of possible exposure.

Should the community spread creep into the school district, and as we continue to consult with the PA Department of Health, the possibility of shifting to a fully virtual environment is always an option. Please be prepared to have your children attend virtually from home should we have to move to this model.

Finally, we ask that you continue to self-monitor for COVID symptoms. There is a parent screening tool that can be found on the District website. If your child does not feel well, keep them home. Every child can join their classes virtually every day. As always, should you have any concerns regarding your child and their health, seek advice from your primary care physician.
