Washington Students Welcome IMS Readers To School

For the ninth year, Independence Middle School Student Council Students shared their love of reading with Bethel Park elementary students during Read Across America Week.

The students call themselves the IMS Readers, and this year they were able to visit all five Bethel Park elementary schools, visiting all classrooms to read their favorite picture books to the students.

Besides reading to the students, the IMS Readers also talked about why they like to read and the importance of reading in their lives.

The IMS Readers are truly Reading Role Models for the younger students.

The program is coordinated by IMS Student Council Adviser Jennifer Makel.  Please click here to see some photos from their visit to Washington.
