On March 28th, Central Valley Middle School competed for the first time in a Forensics competition held at Riverside High School. Senior Joey Caponera was selected to participate in the EQT Side-By-Side Concert with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 7 pm in Heinz Hall.  Joey plays tuba in the CVHS Concert Band and has attended numerous honors ensembles throughout his four years at CV.

The EQT Side-By-Side event gives high school students an opportunity to perform “side-by-side” with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.  Congratulations Joey and good luck!

Four students from Central Valley participated in the District 5 9th Grade Band Festival held at Mercer High School on March 28th.  The band was comprised of 9th grade students from Beaver, Lawrence, Butler and Mercer Counties. Congratulations to Matt Galzerano, Kevin Kennelly, Michael Lucci and Jodi Patterson on a wonderful performance.

Four students from Central Valley participated in the Region I Band Festival at Sharon High School on March 25-26th.  Congratulations to Joey Caponera, Whitney Domico, Natalie Fick, and Olivia Maccaglia on an excellent performance.

On March 25-26, the Region I Band Festival took place at Sharon High School.  Students who attended were required to audition to advance to the next level, PMEA All-State Band, which will be held April 19-22 in Erie.  We are proud to announce that senior horn player Natalie Fick placed high enough to advance to the All-State Concert Band.  It is a great honor for her to represent Central Valley in the highest level of performance in the state.  Congratulations to Natalie!
