U. S. History from Constitution to Reconstruction

This class is a required social studies course in grade 8. The students will recognize and identify the contributions of individuals and groups who aided in the development of America into a world power. Also, students will examine the effect of continuity, change, conflict, and cooperation as it relates to America’s relationship with other countries of the world. In addition, the documents, artifacts, and places significant to America’s growth up to the 20thcentury will be studied. This course is taught within the guidelines of the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for History.
