Parent Meeting on Keeping our Kids Safe. The latest trends in Social Media.
Phillip Little from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office will be presenting to our Central Valley parents on Thursday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m. His presentation topic is on keeping our children safe through teaching digital citizenship and monitoring our children's social media. Last year's meeting was a huge success. Come on out to familiarize yourself with the latest trends in social media. 
MS Bowling Permission Slip
Middle School Bowling will begin for CV Middle School Students on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.  Please see the attached permission slip for more information.  
Hunter Trapper Education
Central Valley Middle School will offer a Hunter-Trapper Education Course for our students and parents. There will be two after school classes: October 4 and October 5. Both classes will be held in Mr. DeLuca's classroom (114). They will begin after school at 2:45 and end at 6:00 pm. Prior to the class students must get a "Today's Hunter and Trapper in Pennsylvania" workbook and read and study chapters: 1, 4, 5, 9. This course is for any student that will be at least 11 years old by October 5th of this year and who is interested in hunting or trapping. There is no fee to take this class. Upon completion students will have met the criteria necessary to purchase a hunting license. This course is only for Central Valley Middle School students and their parents. IF INTERESTED YOU MUST SEE MR. DELUCA TO OBTAIN A STUDY WORKBOOK WHICH MUST BE READ AND STUDIED BEFORE CLASS.  
PTA Reflections Contest Sheet
Attached is the National PTA's Reflections Contest information. This is a great opportunity for students to explore the arts, develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills and recognize themselves as artists.  Deadline for entries is November 3, 2016. 
Chapel Road/Jem's Deli Transportation Notice UPDATE
 
Penn Dot has just informed the Central Valley School District that the project on Chapel Road by the old Jem’s Deli, has been postponed to a later date in October.  At this time, there will be NO changes to the current bus schedules.  Once a new date for the project is confirmed, we will announce that date and notify our school community of the affected bus routes.

MS Student Handbook updates
The MS Student Handbook for the 16-17 school year can be found in the left window on our MS homepage.  Important changes to the handbook for the 16-17 school year can be found on the attached PDF.  Each of you should have received this information along with other documents that need to be signed and returned for the beginning of the school year in a school mailing.  Please make sure your child submits the signed forms to their homeroom teacher and familiarize yourself with the changes for the upcoming school year.

Central Valley MS Program of Studies & Honors Courses Criteria
Central Valley MS is excited to implement curriculum changes and course offerings for the 16-17 school year.  We are grateful to have received grants from our CVEF and the AIU3 Center for Creativity to implement our Project Lead the Way STEAM curriculum in our 6-8 Technology Education courses.  This year will also be the first year we implement our honors courses. Please see the attached Program of Studies and criteria for honors courses that will be implemented this coming fall.
