Nadia Mowad and Gwenyth Prince recognized by the AAUW
Congratulation to Gwenyth Prince and Nadia Mowad on being recognized at the annual AAUW (American Assoication of University Women).  The AAUW Stem Initiative recognized 8th grade female students across our Beaver County school districts for their interest and excellence in the study of mathematics and science and for thier pursuit of careers in the fields of Science, Techonology, Engineering, & Mathematics. Congratulation girls!!! 
Central Valley Marching Band Color Guard and Majorette Auditions
The Central Valley Marching Band will be holding Color Guard and Majorette auditions on Saturday, April 28th.  There will be practices on Monday, April 23rd, through Friday, April 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the High School Main Gym.  Anyone interested in trying out for flags does not have to have any prior experience. For anyone who is interested in grades 8-11, sign-up sheets to audition are in the High School and Middle School offices until April 20th.  Please email Mrs. Poleti or Mrs. Lewis if you have any questions.  
2018 Warrior 5K Run/Walk
Please join us as Central Valley hosts the Warrior 5k Run/Walk. The event will start and end at the Walter R. & Lois A. Sylvester Wellness Center at Central Valley High School-Located at 160 Baker Road Extension, Monaca, PA 15061. The course will include Baker Road to CCBC, and CCBC, to Center Grange Elementary, and back to Central Valley HS Campus, ending at the Wellness Center. This event will raise money in order provide health and wellness equipment to our community members and students of the Central Valley School District. Our vision is to create healthier opportunities for our Central Valley Community, by connecting wellness education with recreation.  
Central Valley Middle School - Schools to Watch Re-Designation 1 Celebration
The Central Valley Middle School will be celebrating its' Schools to Watch Re-Designation 1 with a school assembly on Tuesday, May 15 from 1:40-2:35.  State and local dignitaries and directors from the Pennsylvania Don Eichhorn  Schools to Watch will be on hand to unveil our new STW banner and celebrate with our staff and students this great recognition. 
6th Grade Transition - Girls and Boys Night out!
Our middle school teachers will be holding our annual "Surviving the Middle School" 5th grade transition to the middle school "Girls and Boys Night Out".
The Girls Night Out will be on Thursday, May 3 from 6:00-8:30.  A parent informational meeting will be held at 7:30 in the auditorium. Permission slip due by Friday, April 27.

The Boys Night Out will be on Friday, May 11 from 6:00-8:00.  A parent informational meeting will be held at 7:30 in the auditorium.  Permission slip due by Monday, May 3.

Beaver County Parent Night: Opioid Epidemic
Our Central Valley High School will be hosting this round of Beaver County Parent Night: Opioid Epidemic on Wednesday, May 16 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

PSSA testing dates and documents for parents
The Middle School will be administering the PSSA assessments on the following dates:
April 9, 10, & 11 - ELA Testing
April 16 & 17 - Math Testing
April 24 - 8th grade Science Testing

We will be running a 2 hour delay bell schedule and will be testing from 7:40 - 10:00 a.m.

CVMS recognized as a Don Eichhorn School to Watch Re-designation 1
It is with great excitement we share with our Central Valley community that our CVMS has been Re-designated by the Don Eichhorn Schools to Watch visiting team.  State leaders select these schools for meeting the criteria for academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social equity, and a commitment to improve curriculum, instruction, and accountability.  Please click on the attached press release article for more information. 
CVMS awarded Beaver County Educational Trust STEAM Grant
The Central Valley Middle School has been awarded a $1,000 STEAM Educational Grant through the Beaver County Education Trust (BCET) to partner our 6th grade students with the Beaver County CTC manufacturing students.  The partnership will include designing and creating CV Fidget Spinners through our 6th grade Technology Education class.  More information to follow. 
CVMS Bowling
MS Bowling will begin on Tuesday October 10.  Please see the attached permission slip for more info. 
CVMS after school Homework/Tutoring center program
We are extremely excited to announce that we have partnered with our Central Valley National Honors Society students and Geneva College education majors to create an after school Homework/Tutoring center program.  This program will take place Monday through Thursday from 2:35-3:30 in our middle school library.  Students are able to sign up through their teachers to attend.  Volunteers will be there to work along side of our teachers to assist our students with any homework and tutoring needs.  Thank you Geneva and NHS students for volunteering your time to make a difference!!! 
Central Valley MS Program of Studies & Honors Courses Criteria
Central Valley MS is excited to implement curriculum changes and course offerings for the 2017-18 school year.  We are grateful to have received grants from our CVEF and the AIU3 Center for Creativity to implement our Project Lead the Way STEAM curriculum in our 6-8 Technology Education courses.  This year will also be the first year we implement our honors courses. Please see the attached Program of Studies and criteria for honors courses that will be implemented this coming fall.
