Special Education Services

Child Find
Each school district, along with other public agencies in the Commonwealth, must establish and implement procedures to identify, locate and evaluate all children who need special education programs and services because of the child’s disability. This notice is to help find these children, offer assistance to parents and describes the parent’s rights with regard to confidentiality of information that will be obtained during this process.

The Central Valley School District operates within its four buildings an inclusive approach to all students diagnosed with a disability. Special Education programs are available as follows: Intellectually Disabled, Multi-Handicapped, Learning Disabled, Neurologically Impaired, Autistic/Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Physically Impaired, Visually Impaired, Seriously Emotionally Disturbed, Hearing Impaired, and Speech & Language Impaired.

Early Intervention services for eligible preschool age children are provided through the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit.
